NZ Outside, Classic Places - Classic People, 2003

Special Collectors Edition Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the first ascent of Mount Everest by Sir Edmund Hilary and Tenzing Norway.

Cavalcade to Waikaia - my story was written about the journey of a local Dunedin man, Neil Roberts who retraced his great grandfathers goldmining footsteps by journeying through the Nokomai Valley on horseback.  Neil had no riding experience, yet travelled with the heavy wagon trail across 180 km of wild range.  I, of course, was roped into riding along with him for a little moral support.  Roughing it was an understatement.  It was a great journey shared between me and my special horse Nanook.  The story was just a bonus.  When published it featured between two great New Zealand icons, the Lord of the Rings feature and Sir Edmund Hilary - 50th anniversary.  You can read the story by clicking here.

Venus on a Beach Towel -The paintings of Lindsay Crooks

I was privileged enough to be asked to contribute to Lindsay's beautiful book.  The book is a retrospective tribute to Lindsay's remarkable painting career.  Each painting in the book is accompanied by a written response from a broad range of people including Josh Kronfeld, The Hon. Bill English to little people like me.  It was a real privilege to have the opportunity to write about Lindsay's painting, "Brighton Backyard", a place I am passionate about.

For the love of Simon - New Zealand Womens Weekly, 15 July 2002

This edition featured a story on my friend Simon, who was dying of Motor Neurone Disease.  This small community rallied around and fundraised over $13,000 towards helping Simon have access to some life prolonging medication.  The medication came at a cost of $250 for a weeks supply and was not Government funded.  Simon was an amazing person, who along with his family bravely faced this ugly disease.  I had the privilege of photographing Simon and Rebecca's moving wedding one year before Simon passed away in March, 2004 at age 37.   He is sadly missed by everyone.

I was commissioned by Tourism Dunedin to photograph some golf courses in Dunedin as a promotional feature for the Scenic Circle Dunedin Classic professional golf tournament, March 2001.

I had a five photo feature spread.
